His many credentials are what led me into the decision to begin personal training with him, but his great personality and training style are what kept me coming back! "I met Charles at a Women's Conference hosted at the Abilene Country Club. He introduced himself and started a conversation with me. I told him about my back surgery and the frustrations it had caused me. Charles told me he could help regain the strength in my back, improve my mobility and minimize the pain. Up until then, nobody had ever mentioned they could help me after physical therapy. It took me a few more months before I had the courage to start training with him but his confidence is what lured me back. I have now been training with him for over 2 years and he has greatly improved my balance as well as strengthen my legs, hips and back. "My goals for the physical training program were to increase my physical endurance, improve my golf swing, and lose some weight. My ability to 'last longer' doing any activity has greatly increased. Charles has been the best trainer I have trained with. I first started going to the gym in an attempt to gain some more muscle and workout experience to help with the recovery process from back surgery I had 8 months prior. I did not really know what I was doing and would spend most of my time with cardio and lifting light weights. Months went by and I was not seeing the results I was hoping for. Charles offered me a free 30 min session and just from that 30-minute session I knew that I wanted Charles as my trainer. He was just so happy and spoke to me as if he truly cared which made me confident that Charles was the right trainer for me.
There's not enough space available for me to talk about all the ways Charles has benefited me as a trainer and a friend. After two weeks with Charles, I am more confident going to the gym, my back is feeling stronger, I stand straighter and overall I am a happier individual because Charles taught me how to properly exercise rather than just tell me what to do. I would 100% recommend Charles to anyone who is looking for a trainer. I have trained with a lot of people in my life primarily due to my severe scoliosis and no one has understood what I needed as Charles has. He took the time to understand exactly what I was needing to get out of training. If he didn't have the knowledge on what I needed he researched and took time to be educated on the subject just so I would get the most out of our training sessions. He is the only trainer I have had that I felt truly cared about me as a person rather than just as a client. He made sure I know what I was doing so that when I wasn't training with him I was able to work out properly and effectively."
Charles possesses a wealth of knowledge when it comes to gaining strength and improving overall fitness, and he's constantly researching in an effort to improve his understanding of human performance. I've made significant gains in strength and overall conditioning as a result of training with Charles. In addition, I've also improved my technique when it comes to performing compound weight lifting exercises. I really enjoyed the fact that Charles was extremely passionate about training and I felt that he paid close attention to the small details, which really helped with my strength gains. I would definitely recommend training with Charles. If you have a fitness goal in mind, he will work his magic. If you're willing to put the work in, he'll definitely help you reach your goal.
"I first met Charles while I was working out on my own. I had a question about the TRX system and because I had seen him working out in the gym, and looked like he knew what he was doing, I asked him. He not only answered my question but took the time to explain how the exercise works, what muscle groups it works and suggested other exercises I might like. At the time, I did not even know he was a personal trainer. He simply took the time to answer my questions, be helpful and walked away without trying to sell me on training. A week later, after finding out he was a personal trainer, I approached him and asked him about training and signed up that day. "I chose Charles as my personal trainer for 2 reasons which I saw listed on his website: Functional Movement and Corrective Exercise Specialist. My goals were to:
gain confidence exercising again after 5 years of injury, chronic pain, poor training;
understand and fix pain in hips and shoulder during exercise; and, gain motivation, focus and structure after 5 years of stop/start exercise
Today, I am stronger now and able to move in ways I was not able to even 6 months ago. Because of what we discovered in my body assessment and training sessions, I've been able to greatly increase my core stability and MOVE FORWARD in building strength and fitness instead of having to stop due to pain and uncertainty.
